Indonesian has some of the very best waves in the world, and their locations are spectacular and exotic. Here the swells come from the south and southwest; so all the islands that have coastlines facing in those directions get waves. These include Sumatra, Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Flores, Sumba and Timor.

The most accessible caves are on the island of Java. Luweng Jaran in Central Java was discovered by a tem of Australians and is the longest known cave in the country.
