Lombok flora & fauna
The “Wallacea Line”, which separates Asia and Australia start from east of Bali and Lombok and goes up north to east.
The land in the south eastern part of Lombok is dry and less fertile. The Flora and Fauna are different from the ones that exits in Asia hemisphere. Forests in Nusa Tenggara Barat are mostly found in mountainous areas. Most of the mainland in Lombok are cultivated for rice fields.
There are several species of animals in Nusa Tenggara Barat. They spread in each area according to the climate and types of forests. The animals found in Nusa Tenggara Barat are Babi Hutan (boars), menjangan (small deer), kijang (deer), biawak (iguanas), landak (porcupines), penyu (turtles), and many kinds of poisonous snake. the rare birds are “Kakatua“,”Berging“,”Koak-kaok“, and “Cucak Rawa“. They exist in small number.
