REQUEST FOR INCLUSION IN BALI EVENTS AND CALENDARS FOR 2013

    Earth Day 2013
to be held 21 April 2013 near Ubud

    Ubud, 20 March 2013…

Earth Day will be held on 21 April 2013 at Jiwa Damai, a Permaculture and retreat center in Banjar Bindu, Mambal, near Ubud – website http://www.jiwadamai.net . The event, which will run from 10 am to 6 pm, will focus on challenging and significant environmental issues facing Bali and solutions to those problems.

Earth Day Organizer Darsih Jutawan, general manager of Indonesia Organic, says plans are for Earth Day to include an inspiring mix of NGOs, entrepreneurs and experts on a variety of topics, such as waste collection, water harvesting and conservation, urban farming, sustainable agriculture, biogas and more.

The day-long event will also feature food, live music, green documentaries, workshops, and product presentations, as well as children’s activities.

“There are already hundreds of people working in different ways and approaches to improve the environment and make Bali a better place. We want them to share their knowledge, expertise, products and services with the community,” said Ms. Jutawan. “There will be more than 40 booths and workshop spaces showcasing solution providers, educators, yayasans, eco friendly products, and more. We want those attending to become more aware about environmental issues, learn more about solutions available in Bali and then leave the event enthusiastically committed to engage and take their own positive actions.”
